Boyne City Housing Commission Announces No Public Access to Wooded Lot

Boyne City, Michigan — [September 18, 2026] — The Boyne City Housing Commission (BCHC) is informing the public that the wooded lot located behind Deer Meadows Apartments, Boyne Area Senior Center and surrounded by Earl, Morgan, Grant, and Franklin street (parcel # 051-335-084-40), which is owned by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Boyne City Housing Commission is not open to the public, effectively immediately.

The BCHC has not established or maintained trails, recreational facilities, parks, or other public amenities on the property. The site is not designated or authorized for public recreational use.

For liability and safety purposes, and upon the advice of the BCHC's insurer and legal counsel, the property has been posted with "No Trespassing" signs.

Effective immediately, the wooded lot is closed to public access. Members of the public are asked to respect the posted restrictions and refrain from entering the property.

Access to the property is restricted to Authorized Personnel. The property is intended for the exclusive use of designated BCHC officials. Uninvited individuals are prohibited from entering the premises without proper authorization.

The BCHC will work closely with local law enforcement to address any trespassing incidents promptly and effectively. The BCHC takes trespassing seriously and will take legal action against anyone who violates the “No Trespassing” policy.

The BCHC extends its appreciation to the community for its cooperation in maintaining the integrity of the property and upholding the safety of the premises.
